Anthony is a freelance writer and current Assistiant Editor of The Well Versed living in Las Vegas, NV.
As the offspring of two educators, he lived on a steady diet of black history via Roots, Malcolm X, the Black Panther Party, early Egyptian culture, and Sam Cooke.
A summer internship at Power 88 in 2000 jump started Anthony’s budding media career. After working his way up the ranks, Anthony earned an on-air position and co-hosted a weekend show from 2001-2008.
In 2005, Anthony re-discovered his love for the written word after landing a position as a writer for Hip Hop DX. He quickly established a reputation for hard hitting editorials and coverage of political and social issues. During his tenure at the site, Anthony served as a News Editor, editorial columnist, contributing writer and photographer. His work has been published in such outlets as Ultimate MMA magazine, Hip Hop DX, BET.com, Las Vegas City Life, The BVX, FightNews, and Las Vegas night life blog Daily Fiasco.
Anthony holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His graduate research focused on aggression and consent in popular pornography on the Internet.
